A large, 3 bed, red brick end of terrace. Asking for €250000 even though it solf for €600000 at the peak.
Jesus it was a mess! Not much of a kitchen or bathroom and the little extension looked like it was ready to fall down. Tiny yard out the back so no summer bbqs unless it was me and one other person !
The rooms were large tho but the place looked like it had been ransacked. According to the agent the tenants had just moved out. So why didnt the owner just pay some one €50 to sweep the floor ..
Something didnt add up so I didnt make an offer. I just felt like there was another reason rather than "the recssion, current climate" of why it was on the market .
Funnily enough as of now April 10 - its unsold and the price has gone up to 300k

My Tips
* Dont believe a word any estate agent or solicitor says. Expect long delays and no one to ring you on time
* visit the area where the house is at different times of the day
* ask the police if you have any niggling doubts about the area
* check the taps work and windows open
* ask if the heating works, just because its there doesnt mean it works
* see if the neighbours have added extensions or converted the attic
* never act too excited , the agent can smell an eager buyer a mile away
* be willing to pay the price to get the house or willing to walk away and leave it
* dont think too much about the price. Its only a guideline and a house is only worth what someone is willing to pay
